Latin America

Estates, conquest grants and family fortunes in Mexico, Central and South America and the Caribbean.

What do the Latin America estate cases show?

In Mexico an artist's work can be declared a national monument, which limits what any owner may do with it. Brand rights held in a company outside the estate can slip away from the heirs unless ownership of that company is documented.
