Lisa Marie Presley's mother contested her trust, then resigned as trustee in exchange for $1 million and a grave near Elvis at Graceland
In February 2018 Lisa Marie Presley sued her former business manager, Barry Siegel, in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleging that her $100 million trust had fallen to $14,000 in cash by 2016; he countersued for $800,000 and blamed her spending, and a court-records index lists the case as disposed. Presley died at West Hills Hospital in Los Angeles on 12 January 2023, aged 54. The medical examiner found she died of complications of a small-bowel obstruction. Her trust held Graceland and a 15 percent stake in the Elvis business. On 26 January 2023 her mother, Priscilla Presley, petitioned the court against a 2016 trust amendment that removed Priscilla and Siegel as trustees and named Riley Keough and her brother Benjamin, who died in 2020. The petition said Priscilla was never notified as the trust required, and that the amendment existed only as a PDF, was never notarized, misspelled her name and bore a signature inconsistent with Lisa Marie's. The sides announced a settlement on 16 May 2023. Judge Lynn H. Scaduto approved it in an order filed in November 2023 naming Keough sole trustee. Priscilla resigned as co-trustee for a $1 million lump sum from Lisa Marie's $25 million life insurance policy, $100,000 a year as a special adviser for 10 years or until her death, and the available grave in the Meditation Garden at Graceland closest to Elvis. On 11 August 2025 Brigitte Kruse and Kevin Fialko, Priscilla's former business partners, sued her for more than $50 million. They allege that they brokered the 2023 deal, that it gave her $2.4 million, and that she hastened her daughter's death for financial gain. Her lawyer, Marty Singer, called the suit meritless and retaliation for her 2024 elder-abuse suit against them. Status: pending in Los Angeles Superior Court; after one suit was dismissed by agreement in February 2026, Kruse and Fialko's cross-claims were before Judge Epstein with no trial date set.
A trust amendment that was never delivered to the sitting trustees, as the trust required, gives them grounds to contest it after the person who made the trust dies.
