What did these cases decide about literary executors and copyright?

An estate inventory that lists each valuable item gives heirs the proof they need to reclaim it if it is stolen and resold years later. Papers given away in life belong to the person who received them, and an estate that sues to get them back has to prove the gift never happened. Partners who do not marry do not receive the spousal estate-tax exemption, and the tax comes out of the same estate.
