Bunny Wailer's wife was missing when he died, his 13 children were told to take DNA tests, and his son sued to remove his brother as executor
Neville "Bunny Wailer" Livingston died with his wife, Jean Watt, missing since 23 May 2020. His will named his brother, Carlton Livingston, and his eldest son, Abijah Asadenaki Livingston, as co-executors and named 13 children as beneficiaries. Carlton applied for probate in June 2021. In December 2021 Bunny's youngest sister, Donna Livingston-Carridice, asked the children to take DNA tests to establish paternity. Abijah's lawyers applied to remove Carlton, alleging he failed to account for estate money. Mediation failed. Carlton died in March 2023, leaving Abijah as sole executor. On 28 June 2024 the Supreme Court of Jamaica ruled that the 13 children are the only beneficiaries, according to Abijah's release. His daughter Ngeri Livingston, the singer Cen'C Love, said the court treated Bunny's former manager Maxine Stowe as a creditor, not a beneficiary; the release said Stowe was allotted 15 percent. Cen'C Love passed a paternity test. She alleged that a breakaway faction signed a separate Amazon deal worth over $100,000 and kept the money from the estate, and that a licensing deal Abijah signed breached the estate's terms. Abijah did not respond. In August 2025 she said Abijah had not completed probate and the estate was in limbo. No completed probate has been reported as of 2026.
Naming a brother and a son as joint executors of a large family creates two camps on day one.
