XXXTentacion was shot dead at 20, and his son was born seven months later outside his will

Jahseh Onfroy, the rapper XXXTentacion, was shot dead outside a motorcycle dealership in Deerfield Beach, aged 20. The killers took $50,000 from him. His will, signed in late 2017, left 50 percent to his mother, Cleopatra Bernard, and 25 percent each to his brothers Corey Pack and Aiden. Bernard is the personal representative of the estate. His son, Gekyume Onfroy, was born to Jenesis Sanchez on 26 January 2019, seven months after his death. The will does not name him; Bernard and Sanchez have a paternity agreement. Corey Pack estimated the estate at $50 million in his own lawsuit; no court has set a value. In June 2020 Pack's mother sued Bernard for at least $11 million over the estate. Bernard's lawyer said a court had already ruled that Pack gets nothing†. In May 2021 Pack filed a fraudulent-transfer suit in Broward County; no outcome has been reported. On 20 March 2023 a Broward jury convicted Dedrick Williams, Michael Boatwright and Trayvon Newsome of first-degree murder, and all three were sentenced to life without parole. A fourth man, Robert Allen, pleaded guilty, was sentenced to seven years and was released in October 2023. In 2026 the estate remains under his mother's administration.

What the law took from it

A will that does not provide for children born later leaves a posthumous child's share to statute and family agreements.

Family version vs. the record

Pack's suits say Bernard mismanaged the estate; Bernard's lawyer says Pack has no claim.
