Mexico's Supreme Court annulled Pedro Infante's second marriage six days before he died in a plane crash

Pedro Infante married María Luisa León on 19 June 1939, in a civil ceremony and then in Mexico City's cathedral. She had paid his early way by selling jewelry and spending her savings. They had no children and stopped living together. In 1949 he began a relationship with the actress Irma Dorantes, then 16. In 1951 he obtained a divorce in a municipality of Morelos. In 1952 León filed an amparo, and the divorce was annulled because Infante had forged her signature. On 10 March 1953 he married Dorantes in Yucatán anyway. León sued to annul the second marriage, Dorantes filed her own amparo, and the case reached the Supreme Court. On 9 April 1957 the Court ruled for León and annulled the marriage. Six days later, on 15 April 1957, Infante died when the small plane he was flying crashed in Yucatán; Infobae reports he had hired it to return to Mexico City and marry Dorantes again. León was his only legal widow and accompanied his body to the capital. Infante also had children with Guadalupe López and with Lupita Torrentera, and an adopted daughter. Dorantes published her account, "Así fue nuestro amor", in 2007. León died on 27 October 1978 and is buried in the Panteón Francés de la Piedad in Mexico City.

What the law took from it

A divorce obtained with a forged signature is void, and so is every marriage built on it.

Record vs. record

Infobae says Dorantes was 16 when the relationship began; Spanish Wikipedia says 15:
