Tony Bennett's daughters sued their brother, his manager and trustee, saying a man who earned $100 million left under $7 million
Tony Bennett was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2016 and died in July 2023, at 96. His son Danny Bennett was his manager, held his power of attorney and became trustee of the family trust. His will divides his assets equally among his four children. On 12 June 2024 his daughters Antonia and Johanna Bennett sued in New York for a full accounting. They named Danny, their brother Dae and their father's widow, Susan Benedetto. They said Bennett earned more than $100 million from concerts in his last 15 years, yet the gross estate was said to be worth less than $7 million. They said Danny had not accounted for the 2024 sale of the catalog and image rights to the firm Iconoclast. Danny's lawyers called the claims baseless. In March 2025 the sisters filed a new suit in New York state court alleging breach of fiduciary duty. They allege that Danny used his father's diminished capacity to make deals that paid his own company, took loans and gifts for himself and his children, and paid each sister only $245,000. They say a piano promised to Antonia came back in "terrible condition." They ask the court to remove him as trustee. All claims are allegations. No ruling had been reported as of October 2026.
When one child is manager, attorney-in-fact and trustee at once, the others have only a lawsuit to see the books.
