George Michael left his £97 million estate to his sisters and nothing to his partner, who would not leave the Regent's Park house
George Michael died at 53. In March 2017 the coroner ruled he died of natural causes. He was buried on 29 March 2017 at Highgate Cemetery in north London, three months after his death. Court paperwork dated 30 May 2019 allowed the estate, reported at £97.6 million, to be divided. His sisters, Yioda and Melanie, received equal shares of the main assets, including two London homes. His father received a horse stud farm. The Mill Charitable Trust, which Michael set up in 2009, received his art, antiques and a piano once owned by John Lennon. Friends received the rest. Fadi Fawaz, his partner since 2012, received nothing. Kenny Goss, his partner of 13 years, received nothing. Fawaz kept living in the £5 million Regent's Park house and reportedly refused requests to leave. On 23 July 2019 police arrested him on suspicion of aggravated criminal damage after neighbours saw him on the roof and water pouring from the front door. Officers reported "extensive damage." He was released under investigation. In December 2020 he was removed from the house again, and was charged over £800 of damage to a salon window nearby. Melanie was found dead at her London home on 25 December 2019, three years to the day after her brother. The house's status in 2026 is not on record.
A partner left out of a will has no right to stay in the home, but removing him can take years and cost the property.
